...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE HALEAKALA SUMMIT AND THE
SUMMITS OF THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH MIDNIGHT...

.A passing disturbance aloft will produce snow showers above 
9,500 feet the Big Island summits through this evening, with
chances for additional winter weather decreasing by midnight. Ice
and snow that fell on Haleakala earlier in the day remains on 
roads, and vehicle traffic remains closed in Haleakala National 
Park through at least the evening.

TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Snow and ice. Additional snow accumulations of up to one
  inch is expected on the summits of Mauna kea and Mauna Loa. Ice
  will continue to cover high elevation roads on Haleakala.

* WHERE...Haleakala Summit and Big Island Summits above 9,000 
  feet.

* WHEN...Until midnight HST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Haleakala National 
  Park remains closed to vehicle traffic.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while
driving.
