...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MAUNA KEA AND MAUNA LOA SUMMITS...

.A mid- and upper-level trough is destabilizing the island
atmosphere, and bringing sub-freezing temperatures to the Big 
Island Summits. Meanwhile, moisture arriving on the trade wind 
flow is extending above the elevation of the Summits, leading to 
periods of snow and freezing rain. These conditions may continue 
tonight into Friday.

* WHAT...Snow, freezing rain and rain. Additional snow
  accumulations of one to two inches.

* WHERE...Big Island Summits.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on dangerously slippery road conditions due to
  the potential for icy roadways. Postpone travel to the Summits.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while
driving.
