FEET...

.Layered clouds associated with a disturbance aloft are expected 
to produce snow over the highest elevations of the Big Island 
starting tonight, continuing on Friday, and ending by Friday 
night.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM
HST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total accumulation in excess of 6 inches
  for the upper elevations. 

* WHERE...Big Island Summits above 12,000 feet.

* WHEN...From 9 PM tonight to 6 PM Friday.

* IMPACTS...Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility at
  times, with periods of zero visibility. Travel to and from the 
  summits could be very difficult to impossible.
  
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Any travel plans to the summits should postponed until the threat
of snow diminishes.
