...WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MOUNT HALEAKALA AND THE BIG ISLAND
SUMMITS...

.Very cold air aloft over the islands will continue to bring
wintry conditions to Mount Haleakala and the Big Island Summits 
through Friday afternoon. Expect periods of snow, with icy 
roadways and very cold conditions.

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow occurring. Plan on difficult travel
  conditions. Additional snow accumulations of up to 6 inches 
  expected.

* WHERE...Haleakala Summit.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for significant reductions in
  visibility at times. The National Park Service  reports that 
  the road to the summit is closed and will remain closed until 
  the weather and road conditions improve. Travel plans to the 
  summit should be postponed. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This
will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
